This week we will sample wines from the Douro area in Portugal, home to both fortified wines (Port) as well as table wines, both white and red. We will contrast reds from producers who blend fruit from across their large holdings in various subzones with a producer whose wine comes from a single subzone. And will see how decisions made by the winemaker about timing of harvest and methods of ageing in the cellar impact the wines. As usual, $5 four wines and snacks.
