Oregon is known for Pinot Gris. But you may have noticed that something is afoot. It’s not all made as white wine anymore. In fact, it seems to be showing up in a spectrum of colors from pale salmon to plum and every gorgeous shade in between. For this tasting, we are going to begin with an Italian “orange wine” or “ramato,” (meaning copper) of Pinot Gris and then we are going to jump back to Oregon for three different versions, including one that decidedly drinks like a red wine. These are wonderful wines for the season, suited to rich fall & winter flavors. They can be served slightly chilled, but not generally as cold as whites. Keep these in mind as exciting choices during the holidays and for gift-giving! As usual, $5 four wines and snacks.
